Rubber Sees Mixed Trend

Kottayam: Spot rubber displayed a mixed trend on April 7. RSS 4 increased to Rs 108 from Rs 107 a kg at Kottayam and Kochi as covering groups and purchase agents continued to procure the sparse arrivals. The grade reached Rs 108.50 a kg in the morning session but failed to hold on probably due to purchasers resistance. The April contract ended in the positive zone at Rs 106.50 (106.45) a kg while the May futures fell to Rs 107.50 (108.61), June to Rs 107.51 (109.35) and July to Rs 107.60 (109.15) per kg for RSS 4. The open interest was quoted as 4,826 (4,762) tonnes. with 1,854 (1,853) tonnes in April, 1,898 (1,844) tonnes in May, 730 (718) tonnes in June and 344 (279) tonnes in July.
