Coimbatore: Cotton lint prices continued to remain firm during the current fortnight. While cotton exports to countries, including China and Pakistan, has enabled a firm price trend, the off-take by the domestic mill sector remained insignificant compared to the market arrivals.
According to South India Cotton Association (SICA), cotton purchases by domestic mills continued to be restrictive in the face of lower yarn offtake, lesser export realisations due to rupee appreciation and prevailing financial crunch.
