Turmeric Contracts Hit Lower Circuit On NCDEX
MUMBAI: Turmeric contracts hit lower circuit on NCDEX with a fall in spot market and profit booking. The near month contract closed 4.5% down at Rs 2,293 per quintal posting a turnover of Rs 125 crore. Edible oil complex was also down on NCDEX.
The exchange registered a turnover of Rs 1,709 crore with active trade in guar seed, soya oil, soybean, pepper and rape mustard seed. Soya oil closed down at Rs 525 per 10 kg against 531.8 the previous day following the fall in international market and registered a turnover of Rs 411 crore.
Soyabean closed down at Rs 1,779 per quintal posting a turnover of Rs 194 crore while rape mustard seed closed down at Rs 465.65 per 20 kg recording a turnover of Rs 169 crore.
Guar seed closed down at Rs 1,624 per quintal registering a turnover of Rs 214 crore while pepper closed down at Rs 12,899 per quintal posting a turnover of Rs 154 crore. Jeera closed down at Rs 9,730 per quintal posting a turnover of Rs 97 crore. In domestic futures, turnover on MCX at 5 pm was Rs 4,653.44 crore. Bullion turnover was Rs 2,098.91 crore.
Gold February traded down by 1.16% at Rs.10,121 per 10 gm. Silver contracts, including silver mini lost between Rs 283 and Rs 51 per kg. Silver March contract lost 1.39% at Rs 18,892 per kg. In the base metals segment, copper contracts turnover was Rs 493.03 crore.
The February delivery contract was down by 0.19 % at Rs 266.90 per kg. Turnover of all zinc contracts was Rs 269.15 crore. Zinc December contract fell by 0.99% at Rs 95.10 per kg. Turnover of all nickel contracts was Rs 87.47 crore.
