Agri futures show mixed trends

MUMBAI: AGRI commodities showed a mixed movement at NCDEX platform on Monday. Chana closed lower at Rs 2,190 per quintal with a turnover of Rs 146 crore, guar seed closed down at Rs 1,630 per quintal, recording a turnover of Rs 178 crore.

Soya oil posted a turnover of Rs 265 crore and closed lower at Rs 526.5 per 10 kg, while soybean edged up at Rs 1,834.5 per quintal, registering a turnover of Rs 225 crore. Rape mustard seed closed down at Rs 464 per 20 kg with a turnover of Rs 116 crore.

Pepper closed down at Rs 13,043 per quintal, recording a turnover of Rs 127 crore, chilli closed higher at Rs 3,578 per quintal, jeera closed lower at Rs 9,629 per quintal with a turnover of Rs 69 crore. Turmeric closed up at Rs 2,321 per quintal, posting a turnover of Rs 70 crore. The exchange registered Rs 1,343 crore turnover with active trade in soya oil, soyabean, rape mustard seed and guar seed.

On Monday, MCX registered a turnover of Rs 3005.3 crore at 5 pm.

Bullion recorded a turnover of Rs 1109.4 crore. Gold contracts, including gold mini, moved up between Rs 8 and Rs 52 per 10 gm. Gold February traded up 0.5% at Rs 10,258 per 10 gm.

Silver contracts, including silver mini varied fell by Rs 111 and gained Rs 44 per kg. Silver March contract gained 023% at Rs 19,198 per kg. In the base metals segment, copper contracts turnover was Rs 414.54 crore. The February delivery contract was down by 0.8% at Rs 272.5 per kg. Turnover of all zinc contracts was Rs 278.8 crore.
