Active Trade In Soya Oil, Pepper On NCDEX

MUMBAI: NCDEX registered a turnover Rs 1,503 crore (one-way) with active trade in soya oil, rape mustard seed, soyabean, pepper and guar seed.

Pepper closed down at Rs 13,237 per quintal posting a turnover of Rs 159 crore while jeera closed up at Rs 9,761 per quintal recording a turnover of Rs 66 crore. Guar seed closed flat at Rs 1,647 per quintal recording a turnover of Rs 115 crore while chana closed down at Rs 2,268 per quintal posting a turnover of Rs 57 crore.

Soyabean closed up at Rs 1,790 per quintal recording a turnover of Rs 203 crore, soya oil closed up at Rs 531 per 10 kg, posting a turnover of Rs 366 crore while rape mustard seed closed flat at Rs 470 per 20 kg, registering a turnover of Rs 256 crore.

In domestic futures, turnover on MCX at 5 pm was Rs 4,779.87 crore. Bullion turnover of Rs 1,953.18 crore. Gold December traded up by 1.16% at Rs.10,253 per 10 gm. Silver contracts, including silver mini showed a mixed trend losing Rs 20 and gaining Rs 474 per kg. Silver December contract lost 0.08% at Rs 18,533 per kg.

In the base metals segment, copper contracts turnover was Rs 507.72 crore. Volumes were 18,932,000 kg and open interest 12,505,000 kg. Copper contracts gained between Rs 2.75 and Rs 2.90 per kg. The February ‘08 delivery contract was up by 1.09% at Rs 267.95 per kg. Turnover of all zinc contracts was Rs 286.29 crore. Zinc December contract advanced by 0.47% at Rs 96.15 per kg.
