Coimbatore: The total offering of tea at the Tea Trade Association of Coimbatore increased marginally to 5.54 lakh kg this week with leaf grades calculating for 1.91 lakh kg and the balance of the dust. Shippers to CIS countries operated selectively on the orthodox leaf grades. Internal demand was limited. Well-made Nilgiris tea, particularly the larger broken ruled firm to occasionally dearer levels. Others eased by Re 1-Rs 2. A few exporters and internal purchasers operated. Exporters lent fair support for the brighter liquoring CTC leaf grades. The medium/plainer broken saw less demand and tended easier by up to Rs 2. Select high priced popular CTC dust grades remained barely firm. Good CTC dust grades quoted Rs 44 - 53 price range.
