Coonoor: An analysis of the catalogues of different brokers shows that 12.03 lakh kgs will be offered at Sale No: 40 of the auctions of the Coonoor Tea Trade Association (CTTA) to be held here on Oct 04 and Oct 5. The volume has increased because of the fresh arrivals arising from the recent rains in the plantation pockets. Also, volumes of tea, which had remained unsold in the previous auctions, have been re-catalogued. In all, it is learnt that 9.67 lakh kgs would be the fresh offer this week. Of the 12.03 lakh kgs, 8.6 lakh kgs belong to the leaf grades and 3.43 lakh kgs, dust grades. Again, as much as 11.35 lakh kgs belong to the CTC variety and only 0.68 lakh kgs to the orthodox variety. In the leaf counter, only 0.24 lakh kgs belong to the orthodox while CTC gets 8.36 lakh kgs. Among the dusts, only 0.44 lakh kgs belong to the orthodox while 2.99 lakh kgs is CTC.
