RM Seed Futures In NCDEX On Wednesday Gained

Mumbai: RM Seed futures in NCDEX on Wednesday gained 2.35 per cent at Rs 626 per 20 kg as the arrival season nears an end.

Going by recent rally, there is a possibility that farmers may be holding back their produce in anticipation of further rise in prices, said an analyst.

Soyabean was up 1.71 per cent at Rs 2,377 per quintal on speculative buying. Pepper futures rose 1.42 per cent at Rs 15,327 per quintal. Cocud was up 1.06 per cent at Rs 450 per 50 kg as cotton and edible oils prices were marked up. Sugar regained by 1.06 per cent at Rs 1,432 a quintal on short covering after the recent fall.

Castorseed dips

Castorseed fell 1.39 per cent at Rs 530 a 20 kg on higher arrivals in spot markets. After hitting a high of Rs 3,796 per quintal, turmeric ended the day with a loss of 0.61 per cent at Rs 3,730 per quintal on account of profit taking.

In MCX, cardamom futures shed 0.68 per cent at Rs 658 a kg on profit booking.

MCX recorded a turnover of Rs 6,132 crore up to 5 pm, while it was Rs 2,129 crore in NCDEX on Wednesday

Soya Hits Upper Circuit

Mumbai: It was a mixed day for the futures trading in agriculture commodity on national stock exchanges. Soyabean and rapeseed/mustard seed hit the upper circuit, while chilli closed near its four per cent lower circuit.

Improved arrivals at the Guntur spot markets led to heavy selling in futures which dipped by 3.98 per cent to Rs 4,101 per quintal. Jeera fell 1.52 per cent to Rs 9,410 per quintal on weak spot markets.

Pepper dropped 1.36 per cent to Rs 14,733 per quintal on steady export demand. After the recent rally, turmeric was down 0.66 per cent to Rs 3,301 per quintal. Increase in arrivals at Nizamabad spot markets also supported bearish turmeric future.

Maize traded in the negative zone and closed 0.56 per cent lower at Rs 793 per quintal as the newly harvested rabi crop hit the spot markets.

Taking the cue from the international markets, soyabean futures hit the upper circuit of 4 per cent at Rs 2,262 per quintal. Mustard seed was up 3 per cent to Rs 628 per quintal on concerns over production being hit due to recent rainfall in the growing areas. Kapas and sugar gained 2.18 per cent and 1.67 per cent to Rs 519 per 20 kg and Rs 1,519 per quintal.

On MCX, mentha futures gained 4 per cent to Rs 454 per kg, while was down 2.69 per cent at Rs 594 per quintal.

MCX recorded a turnover of Rs 7,905 up to 5 pm, while it was Rs 3,691 crore in NCDEX.

Soya Futures Decline On Profit Booking

Mumbai: Soybean futures on NCDEX fell 2.07 per cent to Rs 2,034 per quintal on profit booking coupled with weak international markets.

Maize prices fell 1.47 per cent to Rs 769 per quintal on lack of demand in the spot markets due to outbreak of bird flu. Spot price in Delhi fell from Rs 1,000 per quintal to R 850 levels last week.

Guarseed dropped 1.05 per cent to Rs 1,796 per quintal on higher inventories at NCDEX accredited warehouses. After trading firm in the morning session, chana futures fell 1.05 per cent to Rs 2,265 per quintal.

Turmeric firm

Cocud recovered by 0.48 per cent to Rs 418 per quintal on strong spot markets. Turmeric prices traded on firm note and edged up by0.42 per cent to Rs 2,895 per quintal on fresh buying interest.

On MCX, menth fell by 2.06 per cent to Rs 446 per kg on long liquidation. Cardamom shed 1.28 per cent at Rs 694 per kg on profit taking after the recent rally. Potato fell marginally profit taking after two week’s rally.

MCX recorded a turnover of Rs 4,621 crore up to 5 pm, while in NCDEX it was Rs 2,013 core.

Soya Futures Up On Global Cues

Mumbai: Pepper futures went up 2.94 per cent to Rs 14,520 per quintal after a correction in last two sessions. Rapeseed/mustard seed prices rose 1.83 per cent to Rs 488 per quintal on renewed buying interest.

Soyabean and soya oil futures closed higher 1.45 per cent and 1.31 per cent at Rs 2,056 per quintal and Rs 574 per 10 kg on strong cues from international market.

Gur prices declined 2.03 per cent to Rs 395 per 40 kg as more cane was diverted from sugar manufacturing to gur. Delay in crushing by sugar mills has prompted farmers to offload their canes for making gur.

Chilli prices tumbled by 0.76 per cent on the back of arrival pressure.

Barley prices traded on down 0.72 per cent at Rs 1,014 per quintal on long liquidation.

On MCX, cardamom prices almost hit the upper circuit but closed with a gain of 3.92 per cent at Rs 689 per quintal due to buying interest by north Indian traders coupled with thin supply.

Both varities of potatos Tarkeshwar and Agra fell 2.75 per cent and 2.51 per cent at Rs 446 per quintal and Rs 544 per quintal on clear weather conditions in the northern states.

MCX recorded a turnover of Rs 6,327 crore up to 5 pm, while on NCDEX it was Rs 2,742 crore.
